Traveled from Virginia to see Dan Fogelberg at the Keswick since he wasn't performing at Wolf Trap (hopefully he will in future). Although I've listened to and loved his music since the 70's, this was my first show.

His opening act, Todd Snider, was great. I went out right away and bought two of his CD's; look forward to purchasing more and seeing him in concert again. Great performer; had the audience laughing with his witty lyrics and asides. Great opening for Dan, as he primed the audience very well.

Dan's show was very good, although he was not as lively or "witty" as I had expected from reading some of the reviews from past shows. I was a little surprised by the audience, as everyone stayed seated and was very "polite" in their applause. Since it was my first show, I figured maybe that's just the way it was. Seems now from some of the other comments that this is not so, and this audience was a little drab. Dan only did one song for one encore, which was very disappointing. His wife also did not join him on stage, which was also disappointing (we wanted to see the lady who has captured "our man's" heart! :) ) Maybe this was a result of the audience's response. I suppose it would be hard to give your all and not get much enthusiastic feedback.

All in all, it was a lovely show. He sang some of his older songs -- "To the Morning", "Changing Horses", etc. with new twists to them that were just wonderful. I will certainly look forward to seeing him again, and hopefully with a more responsive audience -- maybe then we'll get more wit and more encores! ~Jen

We've seen Dan dozens of times since the seventies, and this show was his best one since he played the Beacon Theatre back in the late 80's. I was gutsy enough to leave my 5th row seat for the empty FRONT ROW CENTER seat that was just calling me, and couldn't have been any happier. The sound was really bad in my initial seat, but was much better up front. There was an energy on that stage which I've rarely seen Dan display, and he seemed to really enjoy playing with his buddies. It was a small, cramped stage, so there were lots of people who had to look at the speaker system while Dan was on the piano, and I know that must have disappointed them. Overall, it was a great night despite technical troubles!! ~ DV

I enjoyed this show very much! Had great seats, and didn't know what to expect!.. I loved the way the show was done in 3 parts. Dan and The Band seemed to be very happy, playful and in my opinion sounded wonderful! I enjoyed the solos by the band members, and it really seemed like Dan enjoyed giving them the spotlight too. The Intro to "Changing Horses" was fantastic!.. I have waited a long time to catch Dan with his band, and am glad I had the chance again. I just wish I would of gotten the chance to sing along to "Gambler", but he didn't play it there. So Dan...if you are reading this, please play that one next time for us! =) Wonderful time was had...thanks Dan! ~ Cathy in NJ~

My husband and I have been huge fans of Dan's since his very beginning. We came from Maryland to see this show (very disappointed he hasn't come to our awesome Wolftrap in Vienna, Va., it'd be Heaven on earth!!!). I always relish every moment of his concerts, especially since they are so far and few, but the main thing that we would love to see change, would be his song list. He's varied it very little over the years, and though I love so many (except the blues that ruins his angelic voice along with those cigarettes over the years!) he's just retired so much of his material (anyone heard "The Last Nail", "Sketches" or "Crow" lately?). Of course I realize that songs like "Souveniers" might be tough, given the years and the key it was sung in, but hey--he manages "To the Morning" beautifully! As for the audience of that particular show, unfortunately the only lively one in the crowd took it way too far....screeching out "Dan, you're HOT!!!" in her best red neck gutteral tone, no less than 20 times!! But in typical comedic fashion, once Dan realized there was no way to shut her up until he aknowledged, he quipped "Damn right I'm hot! That's why I gotta fan up here!!!" Wish he'd came back out and done another encore and pulled a huge surprise out of his archives.....but that's okay....I'll take him as long as he's willing to be up there for us!!! ~ Pam

My husband had been looking forward to seeing Dan with his band for a few years now. It is always worth the drive out from Pittsburgh. We could have waited to see him in Cleveland but we did not want to wait! Dan was in top form and the band was terriffic. The only thing we hated was the seats we had this time. Right behind the mixing stage and I had to dodge the guy all night just to see Dan. I loved the choice of songs and am very thankful he played The Reach! Only wish he would have come out for a second encore!

I went to this show with 7 of my friends raging from 44-62. We all had a wonderful time! The sound was incredible and Dan seemed to really enjoy interacting with the band and the audience. I've been a fan since 75 and always attempt to see him providing no family conflicts of schedule. This was by far THE BEST show ever. All of us agreed. Can't wait to see him again! ~ Kathy Breisacher (Tabernacle, NJ)

Saw Dan and the band from the fourth row at the Keswick on 5 June. Dan was in good voice and the band was great (Joe Vitale's drums a little strong). Dan looked like he was dying on stage with the heat/humidity but he carried on. The crowd was disappointing; they sat on their hands for most of the show. Would have liked to hear "Forefathers" and "Gambler" but otherwise very pleased. ~ John L

Hi everyone. I went to see Dan, at the Keswick, Glenside, PA. for my birthday on June 5th. What a great way to celebrate!!!! Concert was simply wonderful. Can't wait for next year. ~ Kirkwood~

We saw the concert at the Keswick Theater! Too bad the piano was out of sight of all of us to the left of the stage and when ever Dan played we were left watching the stacked speakers. Other than that, we enjoyed listening to his choice of songs, the mix was good, and Dan looked fantastic. He looked the same as when we saw him 20 years ago in Philadelphia. Hope you changed the set up and put the drummer to the side and piano in the center for future concerts. ~ Jay H.
