| Dan Fogelberg Live, his newest
release, features some of Dan's most requested hits, several cover songs,
a brand new song and five that Dan has never recorded before.
Dan explains: "This new CD is a collection of live tunes recorded between 1992 and 1995 with my various bands of that era that were not included on my first live CD, Greetings From The West. The title of this new record, Dan Fogelberg Live: Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed And Some Blues, says it all. In the 'Something Old' category, there are performances of songs I've rarely performed from some of my 70's and 80's recordings such as "Changing Horses," "Looking For A Lady," "Hard To Say," "Make Love Stay," "As The Raven Flies" and "The Innocent Age." For the 'Something New,' I've included a previously unreleased tune called "Don't Let That Sun Go Down" that deals with some famous last words and the need to resolve ourselves with our own inevitable deaths. Ought to be a huge hit with the younger set! 'Something Borrowed' consists of some fun performances of cover songs and includes Jesse Colin Young's "Songbird," Poco's "You Better Think Twice" (performed with Timothy B. Schmit while he was touring in my 1994 acoustic band before he reunited with the Eagles) and George Harrison's "Here Comes The Sun." Finally, a couple blues tunes finish out the album, Blind Willie McTell's classic "Statesboro Blues" and Muddy Waters' "Blow Wind Blow." Also included are the opening "Magic Every Moment" and a smoking version of "She Don't Look Back." There's a great feeling to this CD because it is entirely 100% Live - no overdubs or remixes were possible as the performances were recorded straight off the stage, through the house console and direct to a 2-track DAT tape. This is the real deal - not perfect, but wonderfully real. A lot of my fans who attended these shows have asked me to release these songs over the years, so here they are. Enjoy." |
